A Hydracushion stores hydraulic energy. A hydraulic pump may not be able to supply sufficient energy at certain times during the cycle of a machine, i.e. during peak fluctuations and the Hydracushion provides additional energy to meet the demands pf the system. The energy absorbing capability of a Hydracushion can also be used to reduce pulsations and absorb shocks caused by hydraulic transients.Hydracushions consist of an external pressure shell containing an elastomeric diaphragm separating the pre-charge inert nitrogen gas, compression of which allows the oil to be stored within the Hydracushion and expansion of which delivers oil to the system.
